about

Today's busk was the first I've noticed the impact that Covid-19 has had on the local community of Wales. The streets were much quieter than they usually are, gatherings of family and friends in cafes wasn't a common sight as it tends to be. Those in gathered conversations were discussing it often. It was quiet, but it wasn't as 'zombie-film-like' as I imagined it to be. Perhaps it will get worse, I am generally worried about it! But have an optimistic hope that we as a people will get through it.

Those in town were very generous with their compliments and coin drops. A man walked past many times in many busking spots I situated, "ohhh that's so lovely that sound. You could be anywhere and that sound would make it more beautiful", his voice a whisper that you needed to lean in to hear. His smile gentle as he walked the highstreet and bridge. He spoke for a long time to me about music, and kept saying "oh that's lovely", his wife the otherside of the bridge laughing at him waving him on over. An endless love they seemed to have.

It was a peaceful and lovely day, I hope the music carries that too.
