about

A windy cold Bromsgrove, driven from Oxford on Friday, where I spent the day writing songs on the guitar, sat in the car eating spinach and tiger bread. No busk on Friday due to this endless bloody rain. It's worrisome when driving past the flooded areas, it feels like one day we'll all be submerged. The standard height of a building will be a skyscraper, living atop skyscrapers, wooden bridges connecting our settlements together while we grow gardens out of buckets and fish the giant sea monstrosities that hide in the deepest unexplored caverns of our world.

- Story Tangent -
(Alan the Greatly Fantastic - Issue 1)

"The societies of our submerged world, fight on, surviving the ever-increasing water levels. I'm here with 'Alan the Greatly Fantastic', the elected major for the first functioning Rooftop City, Trinophil" speaking into the microphone, Lila invites Alan the Greatly Fantastic to centre stage. The majority of the crowd begin clapping, a few shouts of 'Go Alan!' step above the clapping. Alan the Greatly Fantastic dresses exactly as you imagine him too, but you're probably forgetting to visualise his top hat, oh the top hat! The multi-coloured top hat has a fence of toothbrushes all of different sizes and colours, glued around the hat, protection from many mystical creatures. Wearing practically all colours known to you and me, but not yellow, his dislike for the colour yellow is fairly high. He struggles to walk, so instead, he skips and dances, bouncing from side to side, even as he stands still he boogies as no one has before.
"Oh hello, you wonderful spongy furry happy many! Here I stand, here I speak, here I breathe, here I think about. Well. I think about everything there is and isn't to think about. I think now, that we are well. I think now, that we are growing and that we are turning into something most wonderful. You'd agree, I'm sure! If you didn't, well then you didn't and that then is okay too!" his voice has a natural reverb to it, it echoes gladly across the many heads and faces of those watching, it's soothing to listen to and it's easy to fall asleep to. No one here was falling asleep though, they all were deeply engaged, wanting to know each syllable this man was sounding. Alan the Greatly Fantastic, paused to dance a little, clapping his hands to signal the crowd to join. It was a jolly few sentences followed by a few jolly dance moves. The gathering was located on a makeshift floating platform, of course, it was 'makeshift' it didn't just appear into existence, it was made by humans, but that story of creation is for another time, or maybe it'll never be told. Giant square grids made with metals and woods, nine of these squares made up the meeting space. Flags of different colours and sigils decorated the edge of the meeting space. A stage raised in the centre of the grid, upon it was Lila the host for the television programme and the weekly meetings here at - Ole Grand 9 by 9. On stage with her was, of course, Alan the Greatly Fantastic, as well a few of her family members operating cameras and holding the microphone out to the talkers. Dancing would cause the space to ripple with the water underneath it, but they were safe, the platforms were very thick, it would take a rather groovy song and a rather groovy dance move to cause the floor to break or allow water to slip on over.
Alan the Greatly Fantastic continues, "So we, so we, so we! Gather gather gather! Here at Ole Grand 9 by 9 by....(begins counting the crowd) 346! Three-hundred and forty-six of us are here to talk about what we are doing for our communities and our selves. Absolutely wonderful this is. I'm here for this, for us, for our world, for my family and for your family, and yours too. They call me and they speak me as well as shout me as - Alan the Greatly Fantastic. There are more than 201 reasons why they do. One of which is because, I am, and I know I am, no matter what the news reporters yell. I am a Druid. I was brought to us all by a God, to aid in saving our race. My first step was to build the city of Trinophil".
With that, there is an uproar of applaud and whistling.
"I thank you for that! My second step is building this", Alan the Greatly Fantastic, pulls a deep purple cloak off a hidden item from a table on the stage. Here revealing..........
